Stage Fright

Amelia had her Christmas program at school last week. She's been busting out Away in a Manger, Feliz Navidad, and Jingle Bells for weeks. She even told me all about the stage and the bells they were going to ring. She said she would sing loud so all of us could hear her this year. I should have know that the actual day would be nothing like envisioned. Sure, she looks happy with her friend Luke in the first picture. Then it all went south, like a fast rolling snowball headed for disaster.

She's starting to get all splotchy like me when I get nervous. She looked like she was going to puke for a minute.

Uh-oh. Her head is down just like last year, except it got much worse.

And this is where I wanted to jump on stage and scoop my poor crying baby up, but I refrained.

Instead, I let Mrs. Angela sit on stage with her.

So, I am going to guess that she won't try out for American Idol any time soon or be a child actress. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree I suppose. Oh, and Ella had a great time dancing and clapping, but I won't post those pictures. They just make Amelia look even that more pitiful.
